Lauren Shub is a professional actor and singer, having graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her professional break came as a teenager playing “Bet” to Ray Walston’s “Fagin” in “Oliver” and then as “Sprintze” to Theodore Bikel’s “Tevye” in “Fiddler on the Roof”. She appeared on Broadway in “The Utter Glory of Morrissey Hall” starring Celeste Holm.
Lauren has been concentrating on singing recently in New York and New Jersey. She frequently performs with jazz guitarist Hal Hirsh, who with his trio has performed throughout the tri-state area and often appears at the renowned Shanghai Jazz. Among Lauren’s local appearances with Hal and other jazz groups are Watchung Arts Center, Crossroads, Verve, Perkins Arts Center, Van Gogh’s Ear, Spanish Tavern, The Hunt Club/Grand Summit Hotel, North Maple Inn, Giamano's and Westfield’s annual “Sweet Sounds Downtown”, where she will be performing again this year on August 10th with Hal on guitar and Ilya Maslov on keyboard.
